Enhancing the gastronomic offer at the Hermitage hotel at Andorra la Vella Fair!
I would never ever miss the 40th “Andorra la Vella “ fair and here I am, this Friday, at the stand of the Sport Hotel Hermitage & Spa, supporting them and giving visibility to the gastronomic proposal that we offer through the various spaces and restaurants of the hotel.
Because visitors love the incredible facilities of this hotel, but they also find an exclusive gastronomy in it, which is the added value for a stay and a differential aspect of the Hermitage.
I often come to this fair because it is a good opportunity to promote the Hermitage; we know that the gastronomic proposal that we offer in the hotel together with Hideki Matsuhisa combines perfectly with snow mood. Besides, Andorra is much closer than you might think! Don’t think twice and pay us a visit, it's great!
I collected the Catalan Gourmet Award of the Year!
In Catalonia we have a finger-licking good gastronomy! When the Catalan Gourmet Night recognises your career and commitment to Catalan products, I can only say: My pleasure indeed ! I will always be an ambassador for local produce wherever I go to!
I would like to thank the Gourmet Cluster of Catalonia for having thought about me for this special recognition. I have reached where I am after a hard effort made, like all producers who are part of it and who make Catalonia be land of gastronomic proposals at the highest quality. Congratulations too you all for the professionalism and the commitment shown every day. Together we are ‘unstoppable’ !
Delighted to cook in tribute to Pasqual Maragall
Cooking sometimes gives me special moments, such as being asked to prepare, along with my team, the gastronomic menu for Pasqual Maragall’s tribute, which took place this Thursday 20th of September, the eve of World Alzheimer's Day.
My dishes were present at the encounter that several personalities enjoyed with the former president before the tribute. One feels very accomplished when the flavours in such intimate moments are those of our cuisine.
My sincere congratulations to the Pasqual Maragall Foundation for the great work they are carrying out. After ten years investigating the disease, their efforts and hard work can never be fully appreciated. Carry on!
Fundraising dinner at the Liceu for El Casal dels Infants
You have heard me say this more than once, but I will say it again, because this is how I feel: You cannot imagine the satisfaction one feels after serving a dinner with three friends (Carles Abellán, Carles Gaig, Albert Adrià), knowing that our effort has contributed to a great cause like that of the Casal dels Infants.
And if that was not enough, it all took place on the Liceu stage! Can anyone ask for more?
I feel privileged to see that this country’s stoves can contribute so that children and young people at risk of exclusion may have more opportunities in life.
Yesterday, upon finishing the dinner, the 400 or so people who had enjoyed the meal applauded the chefs and the whole team that had made it possible.
But, you know what I say? That the huge, giant applause should go to El Casal.
My congratulations to all those who make it possible that the everyday lives of the young people in our country may be a little better. They are our future!
Celebrating 25 years of Casa Marcial
On June 21st, a good handful of us gathered to prepare a special dinner for the 25th anniversary of Casa Marcial.
The mythical Asturian restaurant is celebrating its fourth century with 12 dinners prepared by a team of chefs and I had the pleasure of participating in one of them this last 21st of June.
I shared stoves with the hosts, Esther and Nacho Manzano, and also with few more mates like Ángel León, Diego Guerrero, Ricard Camarena and Juan Pablo Gámez. We prepared a special menu in which I prepared some typical dishes of my cuisine such as 'The best olives in the world', 'Peas from our garden with cod bellies' and 'Cap i pota with sea cucumbers and aubergine'.
