The ‘calçots' season began this past Saturday in Valls with the symbolic start of the first calçots, with Nandu Jubany doing the honours at the seventh edition of the Jornada Gastronòmica del Calçot-Memorial Àngel Solé (Calçot Gastronomic Day-Angel Solé Memorial).
The traditional "Showcooking" was held without the public in San Roque and could be followed online through the City Council's Youtube channel.
Nandu wanted to give away some calçot croquettes to support the ‘calçotades’, which this year we don't know if they can be celebrated in the same way.
I have shared my recipe with all the restaurateurs in Valls so that they can cook it during this calçot season, and we hope that many of you will be able to try it!
